TONY'S HISTORY

TONY PEACOCK

(Lead Vocals)

Tony was first influenced to pick up an instrument a the tender age of 15 by the great sounds of January by Pilot, unfortunately the instrument he picked up was a lowly sweeping brush!!

Having eventually got a real guitar Tony spent the next 20 years honing his skills to such high degree that he can now even play the tap on the guitar body in Extremes More Than Words.

Not being content with being a guitar god Tony also took to playing keyboards after hearing Mals' rendition of Chopsticks and thinking to himself "F***, even I can play that!" and now he can!!

In 1983 warmer climes beaconed and Tony found himself in South Africa where he spent the next 4 years playing as a guitar/vocalist around the Southern Suns Hotel circuit, finally returning to Blighty in 1978 where he stepped straight into the roll of guitarist/keyboards/vocals in the top North East club band Mony Mony.

The Mony line up was; Tony, John Prest - Drums, Dave York - Guitar/Vocals, Bazzer Nawton - Bass (later to be replaced by Angus "Budda" Nyslop), our very own Mal as sound engineer and Dave Stearman - Lead Guitarist extraordinaire who at a later date was in Bake the Cake with Bob the Drummer! Small world this innit!!!

In 1990, after the demise of Mony Mony,  Tony and Dave formed the due Face to Face playing the North East rock & blues and club circuits, but in early 2003 the pair went their separate ways and Tony was joined by another top local guitarist, but it didn't work out so Ken joined him instead!!!

As Outrageous were looking around for a new front man to replace Doggy it seemed logical to avail ourselves of Tony's talents and another chapter in both our histories has just opened.
